Day 1 - I am going to try my best to keep up with this everyday. I decided to start this blog because of a Facebook friend, she is doing the same and doing great. I figure if people are watching me, I may be more accountable. From January to May went from 270 lbs to 230 lbs and now being August 14, have been able to maintain my weight. Thank goodness. I need to lose more. How did I do it? High proteins, low carbs aka Atkins per se. I still kinda did what I wanted. I tried to stay at the 20 grams of carbs a day. I also used keto-strips to test my urine for ketosis because that is what helps you lose the weight. However, I did NOT rob myself of cravings, if I wanted something I ate it but in moderation. I eventually got to the point where most sweet foods did not even taste good to me. Salt however is a different story and could be my nemesis and is the reason I am on Lasix (Furosemide) fluid pill. I don't add salt to my food but love chips, pretzels and salty foods like that. Anyway, I have found that if I do not give in to my cravings, I go crazy and my diet fails. I just eat those things in moderation.
My starting weight today 229.9 and yes I am going to take that .1 of a pound because I have not been in the 220s in a long time, so I will take it. Haha. Early this morning I was 227 but I won't count that. I fluctuate and can get there for real. I will do the same diet. Wish me luck. I use myfitnesspal app to also monitor 1400 calorie diet. So even if I get more than 20 grams of carbs in on a day, I do stay under 1400 calories, it's kinda like a fallback plan.
Brunch: Bacon. Scrambled eggs with a few diced tomatoes, jalapenos, and cheese
Supper: Hibachi chicken rice with yum yum sauce no veggies because I was getting enough carbs with rice.
